Girish Chavan

Girish Chavan is a seasoned data engineering professional with extensive experience in the energy and resources sectors. Currently serving as Principal Data Engineer at Woodside Energy since June 2022, Girish previously held key roles at BHP from February 2014 to June 2022, including Principal Data Platform Engineer and Principal Big Data Engineer, where notable contributions included the development of a Data Management Platform utilizing Cloudera Hadoop. Prior experience includes positions at BP as Data Integration Lead, focusing on credit risk modeling, and at Cognizant Technology Solutions as Project Tech Lead, overseeing the migration of a legacy reporting system. Earlier in the career at Infosys, Girish led a team to deliver a data warehouse solution for an Oil & Gas client. Academically, Girish holds a Master of Engineering in Machine Design from Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Rajarambapu Institute of Technology.
