Margarita Malaspina has extensive work experience in process safety engineering and risk analysis. Margarita started their career as a Risk Analyst at CIRCA, where they conducted risk analysis and implemented safety programs. Margarita then worked as a Risk Engineer at INELECTRA, where they focused on risk assessment. Following that, they joined ARPCA as a Lead Risk Engineer, leading and conducting process hazards analyses for various facilities. Margarita then worked at PDVSA as a Project/Risk Engineer, where they were involved in strategic projects. Later, they held multiple roles at ConocoPhillips, refining their expertise in process safety management and compliance. Most recently, they worked at BHP as a Principal Process Safety Engineer, where they developed safety standards for offshore facilities and provided support to both new and existing projects. Currently, they are the Process Safety Lead - Trion Project at Woodside Energy, managing contractors and ensuring appropriate risk assessment for deepwater development projects in Mexico.
Margarita Malaspina completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemical Engineering from Universidad de los Andes (VE) between 1995 and 2000. In 2005, they attended Universidad Metropolitana, where they completed a Project Management Program in the field of Project Management.
