Garret Mertz

Garret Mertz currently serves as the VP of Industrial Operations at Woodward, Inc., a position held since November 2022. Mertz has extensive experience in leadership roles, including General Manager at a private company from November 2022 to March 2024 and General Manager at Applied Composites from July 2020 to November 2022. Prior to these positions, Mertz worked at Meggitt in various roles, including SVP/GM of the Flow Control Product Group, Vice President of Operations, and Vice President of Operational Excellence, overseeing multiple international locations and focusing on operational excellence and financial performance. Mertz began the career at Meggitt Control Systems, progressing from Manufacturing Engineer to Director of Site Operations. Educational qualifications include an MBA from the Rady School of Management at the University of California, San Diego, an Executive Strategic Leadership program at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology from Humboldt State University.
