R. Max Holmes is the President & CEO of Woodwell Climate Research Center, bringing with him experience as Deputy Director and Senior Scientist. R. Max has also served as Program Director in the Arctic System Science Program at the National Science Foundation. Prior to this, R. Max taught Ecosystems Ecology, Global Change, and Arctic System Science at Carleton College as a Chesley Distinguished Visiting Associate Professor. With a background in Biology and Biogeochemistry, Holmes has also worked as a Staff Scientist at the Marine Biological Laboratory.
