Benedikt Forchhammer

Benedikt Forchhammer is an experienced backend engineer with a robust background in developing scalable systems, currently serving as the Backend Engineering Lead and previously as a Senior Backend Engineer at Wooga since September 2017, utilizing technologies such as Elixir/Phoenix and Ruby/Rails. Prior to this role, Benedikt was the Backend Engineer/Lead at Dubsmash from January 2015 to March 2017, where significant contributions were made to build and scale backend systems for over 150 million users. Benedikt's freelance work from July 2005 to December 2014 involved creating web-based systems with an emphasis on user experience, while earlier roles included a student software developer position at Tyco Electronics, a voluntary year in cultural administration, and a webmaster role at ComTeam AG. Benedikt holds a Master's Degree in IT Systems Engineering from the Hasso Plattner Institute and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Bath.
