Ian Thompson

Ian Thompson is an accomplished finance and taxation professional, currently serving as the Group Head of Treasury and Taxation at Woolworths since October 2014, overseeing financial operations for major retail brands in the southern hemisphere. Prior to this role, Ian founded a company specializing in bespoke financing solutions and held the position of Director of Finance and Corporate Affairs at JD Group, where extensive experience across various industries was gained. Ian's career commenced in the early 1990s with diverse roles, including audit management at Deloitte and leadership positions in financial management and corporate finance. Ian holds a BCom BAcc CA(SA) from the University of the Witwatersrand and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
