Mark Dodd has worked in the software engineering and development industry since 2006. Mark began their career at SAAN as a Software Developer, where they developed database (SQL) reports, ASP .Net inventory replenishment systems, Ajax/Google maps store locators, and corporate web site production and maintenance. In 2007, they joined BlackBerry as a Software Developer, where they focused on high volume manufacturing test development and contract manufacturing support. In 2011, they moved to Avvasi Incorporated as a Design Engineer, where they developed proprietary hardware diagnostics and test frameworks, established and formalized processes for developing manufacturing tests, and qualified third party ATCA hardware. In 2013, Mark began working as an Engineering Consultant (Part Time) for Detection Innovations Incorporated, where they developed, deployed, and managed a multi-customer ZigBee based wireless sensing network, developed embedded device drivers (C/Python), and managed remote firmware upgrades. In 2014, they joined ecobee as a Senior Software Developer, where they were the team lead for the Carrier Côr smart thermostat firmware and was responsible for implementing Carrier's feature and GUI specification, reporting progress to internal and external stakeholders, and coordinating internal and external QA teams. In 2016, they joined Amazon as a Senior Software Development Engineer - Alexa, where they were the technical lead for teams developing the offline Alexa Skills Kit SDK, runtime, and SLU stack, and was responsible for the Local Voice Control feature of the Alexa Automotive SDK. Mark also designed the overall architecture and lead implementation of the Alexa Custom Assistant for offline use cases. Finally, in 2022, Mark joined Woosh as the Head of IoT, where they are disrupting the HVAC filtration industry.

Mark Dodd attended the University of Manitoba from 2001 to 2006, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering.
