Amanda Bessette

Amanda Bessette serves as the Associate Director of the Robotics Resource Center at Worcester Polytechnic Institute since July 2022. Prior to this role, Amanda worked as a Systems Engineer at FIRST from February 2016 to July 2022. Amanda gained research and teaching experience as a Graduate Research/Teaching Assistant at the Florida Institute of Technology from August 2013 to May 2015, providing instruction in mechanical engineering labs and conducting research under Dr. Morkos in STRIDE Lab. A notable internship at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in summer 2014 involved support for the Mars 2020 Flight System Engineering Team. Amanda's educational background includes a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, both from the Florida Institute of Technology. Additionally, Amanda held a position as a College Tech Specialist at Lockheed Martin, contributing to system integration projects.
