María-Cristina Gavilán

María-Cristina Gavilán serves as the Director of Admission, Access & Outreach at Worcester Polytechnic Institute since February 2023. Previously, Gavilán held the position of Associate Director of Admission, Diversity & Access at Roger Williams University from August 2021 to January 2023, where initiatives focused on increasing diversity through first-generation and bilingual programming while managing recruitment across multiple geographic territories. Prior experience includes serving as Access and Outreach Specialist at the University of Houston, implementing early outreach initiatives for underserved populations, and as Admissions Counselor at the University of Mary Washington, where programming for Latinx and underserved communities was developed. Gavilán's career began as a Legal Assistant and Latino Marketing Coordinator at Cravens & Noll, P.C., preceding a bachelor's degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Foreign Language: Spanish with a concentration in Latin American studies.
