Richard Lopez, Ph.D., currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience at Worcester Polytechnic Institute since July 2022. Prior to this role, Richard held the position of Assistant Professor of Psychology at Bard College from August 2019 to June 2022 and was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Rice University from August 2017 to July 2019. Richard's academic journey began at Dartmouth College, where Richard earned a Ph.D. in Cognitive Neuroscience from 2011 to 2017, following an A.B. in Psychology from Princeton University, completed in 2009. Earlier research experience includes serving as a Graduate Student at Dartmouth College and as a Research Assistant at Columbia University, where Richard contributed to studies focused on the cognitive regulation of craving in cigarette smokers and methamphetamine users.
