Somayeh Aghnia has a diverse range of work experience in the tech industry. Somayeh co-founded Geeks Ltd in 2007 and served as the CEO, providing software solutions for Changemakers. In 2018, they also co-founded WordUp App.
Somayeh has been involved in various professional organizations. Somayeh became a Fellow of BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT in 2019 and a Fellow of The RSA in 2017. Somayeh is also a Fellow of the Women's Engineering Society, supporting women in engineering. Additionally, they are an Official Member of the Forbes Business Council since 2021.
In 2022, Somayeh co-founded Sutton College of Technology, focusing on developing leaders in the digital economy. Before their entrepreneurial ventures, they worked as a software engineer in various companies from 2001 to 2007.
Somayeh Aghnia FBCS FRSA obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Software Engineering from Azad University, where they studied from 2000 to 2004. Somayeh later pursued a Master's degree in Computer Software Engineering from the University of Brighton, completing their studies in 2005. Additionally, Somayeh Aghnia has gained certification as a Judge at the UK Employee Experience Awards from Awards International in May 2021.
