Alex Markelov

Alex Markelov is a seasoned IT professional with extensive experience in infrastructure engineering and systems architecture. Currently serving as a Senior Infrastructure Systems Engineer at Workday since November 2014, Alex also founded a UNIX and Linux consultancy, makeITsimple, in May 2008. Prior roles include System Architect and Senior System Engineer at Groupe Smart&co, focusing on cloud transition and scalable infrastructure, as well as various positions at IBM, including Infrastructure Engineer and Architect, where Alex concentrated on cloud computing and defense operations. Alex began the career as a LAN/WAN administrator at Folium, supporting IT operations for the Moscow Central Stock Exchange. Academic pursuits include a Master’s degree in Applied Cybersecurity from TU Dublin, complemented by a Master’s in Computer Science from Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics and an engineering degree in Mathematical Support of Automated Control Systems from Alexander Popov Naval Academy of Radio Electronics.
