Kai Zhao is a seasoned professional with 17 years of experience in AI and Machine Learning and has published over 50 top-tier AI publications, including at ICML. Currently, Kai serves as the Tech Lead MLE for Agentic AI at Workday since 2025. Prior to this role, Kai was an AI Research Scientist at Walmart Global Tech from 2024 to 2025 and an Assistant Professor at Georgia State University from 2017 to 2024. Kai also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at New York University from 2015 to 2017, following a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Helsinki and a Bachelor's degree from Shandong University.
