Jannie Marais

Jannie Marais has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several years. Jannie began their career in 1997 as a Divisional Manager at Ramathe Fivaz Chartered Accountants Inc and held this role until 2006.

From 2006 to 2007, Jannie worked as a Financial Manager - Southern Africa at Dade Behring (South Africa) (Pty) Ltd. In this position, they were responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and monthly management reporting.

After that, Jannie joined CaseWare Africa - South Africa in 2008 and worked as a Product Manager. Jannie managed the flagship products of CQS and was responsible for compliance and automation of financial statements and tax submissions.

In 2019, Jannie joined Exact as a Commercial Product Manager. Jannie'srole involved developing and managing products used by Accountants and Accountancy firms. Jannie aimed to ease their responsibilities and enhance their efficiency.

Jannie then served as the Chief Executive Officer at Syneton from October 2019 to January 2020, overseeing the operations of the company.

In 2020, Jannie became the Branch Manager at GreatSoft, where they managed the branch's day-to-day activities and operations.

Jannie then held the position of Managing Director at I TO I TECHNOLOGY SERVICES and INVESTAS from June 2021 to August 2022.

In June 2021, Jannie also took on the role of Managing Director at Octopi Financial Solutions, where they served until March 2023.

Currently, Jannie Marais is the Chief Financial Officer at Workerslife, joining in March 2023. As the Group CFO, they are responsible for providing long-term and short-term assurance and insurance products to customers within the Workerslife Group of companies.

Jannie Marais has an extensive education history in the field of Accounting and Auditing. Jannie obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Auditing and Accounting from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika, graduating between 1992 and 2011. Additionally, they completed a B.Compt Honours in Accounting and Auditing from Unisa, spanning from 1992 to 1999. Jannie also earned two more B.Compt Honours degrees in Accounting and Auditing from Unisa, with one being completed between 1997 and 2001, and the other from 2000 to 2001. Prior to their university education, Jannie graduated with a Matric degree in Mathematics from Volksrust High School in 1991. Furthermore, they obtained a Product Manager/Product Owner (PM/PO) Certification Program from Scaled Agile, Inc. in April 2015.
