Travis Reid

Travis Reid is the current Director at Workforce Professional Training Institute. Prior to this, they were the Project Director, Newark 2020 at Newark Alliance. There, they oversaw a city-wide change initiative connecting 2,020 Newark residents to living-wage employment aimed at ending the cycle of generational poverty. Travis also secured $750K in public funding to support the initiative and launched satellite workforce sites to provide needed employment screening and case management for unemployed job seekers.

From 2016 to 2018, Travis was the Chief Operating Officer at YouthBuild Newark. In this role, they were responsible for the overall management and operation of the organization. Travis also created and implemented programs and initiatives designed to improve the quality of life for Newark residents.

Travis Reid has a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Connecticut College, a Master's in Public Administration from Baruch College, and a Certificate in Non Profit Leadership - Executive Leaders Cohort from Rutgers University. Travis also has a Certificate of Public Performance Measurement from the School of Public Affairs and Administration at Rutgers University.
