Miriam Barksdale Botello is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in workforce development and program management. Currently serving as a Workforce Development Specialist at Workforce Solutions Alamo since September 2013, Miriam plays a key role in coordinating Rapid Response initiatives and conducting labor market research. Previously, Miriam held the position of Workforce Planner at San Antonio State Hospital from 2009 to December 2013 and directed the Volunteer Service Council at the Epilepsy Foundation of Central and South Texas from March 2009 to August 2013. Miriam obtained a Master of Arts in Bicultural Bilingual Studies from The University of Texas at San Antonio and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the same institution.

Workforce Solutions Alamo serves as the governing board for the 13-county Alamo workforce development region, overseeing a network of service providers and contractors that brings people and jobs together. No-cost resident services are delivered through one-stop career centers available to the 8,000 businesses and more than 2 million residents in the Alamo region. The primary role of Workforce Solutions Alamo is to align, focus and set direction for all workforce activities in the 12-county Alamo region. Workforce Solutions Alamo serves the counties of Atascosa, Comal, Bandera, Bexar, Frio, Gillespie, Guadalupe, Karnes, Kendall, Kerr, Medina and Wilson. WSA is an equal opportunity employer/program.
