James Cavanagh began their work experience in 2011 as a Software QA Engineer at International Financial Data Services (IFDS). In this role, they executed test cases on various systems, including Life Administrator and Schedule Manager, and utilized tools such as JIRA and Test Director for defect reporting and tracking. James also collaborated with development teams to resolve defects and wrote and updated automation test suites using WorkSoft.
In 2014, James joined Workhuman as a Software QA Engineer before transitioning to the role of Engineering Manager in July 2019. Workhuman is a global platform that integrates social recognition and continuous performance management. As an Engineering Manager, James played a crucial role in shaping the future of work by connecting culture to shared purpose and empowering employees to achieve their best work.
James Cavanagh's education history begins in 2001 when they attended Dublin Institute of Design (D.I.D.) and obtained a Diploma in Interior Design & AutoCAD. James then went on to Dublin Business School from 2009 to 2014, where they earned a Bachelor's Honours Degree with First-class honours in Business I.S. & Cloud Computing.
In 2014, James pursued higher education at Technological University Dublin and completed a Master's Degree in MSc Creative Digital Media with a focus on Mobile, Smart Device, and Dynamic Web Applications Development & Design. Additionally, in the same year, they completed an ISTQB Training Course at SQS.
In 2020, James enrolled in the UCD Professional Post Grad program at University College Dublin, specializing in Creativity, Innovation, and Leadership.
Alongside their formal education, James also obtained certifications in the field. In 2014, they achieved the ISTQB certification from the ISTQB - International Software Testing Qualifications Board. Later in 2019, they became a Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) through the Scrum Alliance.
