John Horan

John Horan has over 25 years of experience in the technology industry. John is currently an Engineering Manager at Workhuman, where they lead a multi-disciplined platform development team. In this role, they work closely with senior stakeholders to define roadmaps and successfully deliver software solutions. John has also held various technical leadership roles within Workhuman.

Prior to joining Workhuman, John worked at Friends First as an Agile Project Manager, Scrum Master, and Technical Architect. John was responsible for owning the architecture for a suite of applications and advising on overall IT strategy. John also played a key role in project planning, estimation, and risk management.

Before Friends First, John worked at FINEOS as a Technical Architect and Senior Technical Consultant. In these roles, they developed infrastructure components to support distributed applications and worked with financial clients on various projects.

Earlier in their career, John worked as a Senior Developer on contract at AMP and as a Staff Software Consultant at Vision Consulting Ltd.

Throughout their career, John has gained experience in a wide range of technologies, including AWS Cloud services, Java ecosystem, Tomcat, Spring framework, and more.

John Horan attended University College Dublin from 1991 to 1995, where they obtained a Bachelor of Electronic Engineering degree. In addition to their formal education, they obtained the certification of Certified Java Programmer in December 1999. Recently, in March 2018, they also acquired the AWS Solutions Architect - Associate certification from Amazon Web Services.
