Shalena Broadnax

Shalena Broadnax has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Shalena currently serves as the Principal & Founder of Work Renewed, a role they began in 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Consultant at Sandler Search from February 2021 to March 2022. At Sandler Search, they also held the position of Director of Executive Search & Equity Initiatives from April 2021 to February 2022.

Before joining Sandler Search, Shalena worked at KIPP Foundation as a Senior Manager, Executive Recruitment from August 2019 to April 2021. In this role, they provided end-to-end executive search support and successfully implemented a fee-for-service model.

From March 2017 to August 2019, Shalena was the Managing Director, Executive Director Recruitment at Teach For America. Shalena managed executive director hiring for multiple regions and ensured diverse candidate pools.

Prior to that, Shalena worked as the Director of Talent Management at PNP Staffing Group from July 2016 to March 2017. Shalena exceeded sales targets in the Washington, DC office.

Shalena has also held various roles earlier in their career, including Chief of Staff at Echoing Green from 2015 to 2016, Executive Recruiter at Sandler Search from 2013 to 2015, Organizational Restructuring Consultant at YA-YA Network from 2011 to 2013, Program Coordinator at Asia Catalyst from 2011 to 2013, and Operations and Communications Associate at Echoing Green from 2008 to 2011.

Shalena Broadnax completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Film Studies at Brooklyn College. Shalena then pursued further education and completed coursework for a Master's degree in Public/Applied History at New York University. Shalena continued their education at The George Washington University, where they earned a Master of Arts degree in Education and Human Development. Shalena is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Human and Organizational Leadership at The George Washington University, with an expected completion date in 2026.
