Shaun Millar

Principal Investigator at WorkSafe New Zealand

Shaun Millar has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several years. Shaun began their career as a Detective with NZ Police in 1987 and served until 2006. After that, they worked as a Senior Investigator for Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) from 2007 to 2010 and then joined Real Estate Agents Authority (REAA) as a Senior Investigator until 2011. Shaun later worked as a Fraud Investigator for the Earthquake Commission (EQC) from 2011 to 2012. Subsequently, they served as an Assistant Principal Compliance Officer for Queensland Office of Fair Trading from 2012 to 2013. Shaun then joined Workplace Health and Safety Queensland as a Principal Inspector (Investigations) from 2013 to 2018. Shaun later worked at the Office of Industrial Relations Queensland as an Investigation Liaison and Support Officer from 2018 to 2019. Following this, they held the position of Senior Investigator (Statewide Investigations) at Workplace Health and Safety Queensland from 2019 to 2021. Currently, Shaun holds the role of Principal Investigator at WorkSafe New Zealand starting from 2021.

Shaun Millar attended the Royal New Zealand Police College, where they obtained a Diploma in Policing in 1990. Shaun then went on to study at Rongotai College, although no degree or field of study is specified. Later, Shaun completed a Certificate III in Investigative Services at the Australian Security Academy. Shaun pursued further education at Churchill Education, earning a Diploma of Government, a Diploma of Work Health and Safety, and a Diploma of Government (Investigation). In 2018, Shaun enrolled at CLET Training and is currently pursuing an Advanced Diploma of Government (Investigations).
