Shannan Withers

Chief of Staff at World Anti-Doping Agency

Effective July 2021, Shannan Withers assumed the role of Chief of Staff. In this role, she is responsible for WADA’s Governance and Strategy, Innovation & Corporate Development functions.

Shannan joined WADA in 2001 and is the Agency’s longest-standing staff member. During her time with WADA, she has served various functions within the Office of the Director General (previously known as the Executive Office); and, has led several key strategic projects.

Prior to joining WADA, in 1997, Shannan was Anti-Doping Program Coordinator for the 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Sydney (Australia). Following the success of the Games, she was recruited to join WADA in Lausanne (Switzerland) before relocating to Montreal (Canada).

Shannan holds an undergraduate degree in management from the University of Canberra (Australia).
