Felipe Basaglia

Felipe Basaglia is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in the nuclear sector, currently serving as Engineering Area Lead at the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) since September 2023. Prior to this role, Felipe held various leadership positions at Sellafield Ltd from November 2012 to September 2023, including Performance Assurance Lead, where responsibilities involved enterprise assurance for Special Nuclear Materials, and Modelling and Simulation Centre of Expertise Lead, focusing on decision-making support. Felipe also managed a team in Effluent Management Strategy, overseeing technical complexity and stakeholder communication, while contributing to bespoke dynamic process modeling as Senior Technical Advisor. Felipe's early career included roles as a Process Engineer and graduate, with a solid foundation in Chemical Engineering and Nuclear Science obtained from The University of Manchester. Additionally, Felipe was the Chair of the Nuclear Technology Special Interest Group at the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) from April 2020 to September 2023.
