Alain Aeschlimann

Alain Aeschlimann is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in international humanitarian work and strategic operations. Currently serving as a Senior Strategy and Operations Officer at The World Bank since June 2019, Aeschlimann previously held multiple leadership roles at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) from April 1987 to March 2019, including Head of Delegation for Ukraine, Southeast Asia, East Asia, and the Pacific, as well as various positions related to protection and legal advisory functions. Early in the career, Aeschlimann worked as a Legal Advisor for the Swiss Directorate of Post and Telecommunication from August 1983 to October 1986.
