Arno Boersma

Arno Boersma is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in sustainable development, knowledge management, and impact-driven initiatives. As the Founding Partner of Island Impact since March 2019, Boersma focuses on enhancing the resilience of islands through sustainable development. Co-founding Knowledge on a Mission and the Plastic-Free Islands Network showcases a commitment to practical solutions and reducing plastic waste. Boersma has held significant roles with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and The World Bank, specializing in knowledge management to combat poverty. A former Director of the UNDP’s Centre of Excellence for Small Island Developing States, Boersma has a background in strategy consulting and marketing with leading companies. Boersma's education includes an MSc in Business Administration from Erasmus University Rotterdam and various international academic qualifications.
