Michael Brown is a seasoned economist with extensive experience in sovereign credit analysis. Currently serving as a Senior Economist in the Credit Risk Department at The World Bank since May 2018, Michael specializes in principal credit analysis for emerging, frontier, and IDA-only sovereign borrowers. Prior to this role, Michael worked as an Associate Analyst for Sovereign Risk at Moody's Investors Service, where responsibilities included analyzing sovereign credit for Mexico, Ecuador, and Central American credits. Earlier in career, Michael served as a Chinese-English Translator for Goldman Sachs, translating over 2,000 pages of research and facilitating investor relations across China. Michael holds a Master of Business Administration in International Finance and a Master of Science in the Foreign Service (International Development) from Georgetown University, as well as a BA in East Asian Studies from Northwestern University.
