Sameh Wahba

Sameh Wahba is an accomplished Egyptian national serving as the Regional Director for Sustainable Development at the World Bank, overseeing diverse initiatives in agriculture, environment, social inclusion, urban development, and climate resilience in the Europe and Central Asia Region since May 2004. With a strong background in urban studies and planning, Wahba previously held positions as Global Director for Urban, Disaster Risk Management, Resilience and Land Global Practice, and has an extensive portfolio that includes managing a $30 billion global strategy and a team of 450 professionals. Wahba's academic credentials include a PhD in Urban Planning from Harvard University, complemented by several master’s degrees and a Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering from Cairo University.
