Saroj Kumar Jha

Saroj Kumar Jha serves as the Global Director of the Water Global Practice at The World Bank, leading a team of over 400 staff dedicated to achieving a Water-secure world. Previous roles at The World Bank include Regional Director for the Middle East Department, focusing on job creation, education, and peace-building, as well as Senior Director for Fragility, Conflict, and Violence, and Regional Director for Central Asia. Saroj also founded the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery and has extensive experience with the Indian Administrative Service and various UN agencies. Academic credentials include a B.Tech. in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and earlier studies in science and political science.
