Stuart Fraser

Stuart Fraser is a highly experienced professional in disaster risk management and emergency management, currently serving as Director at Fraser Disaster Risk Consulting Ltd since April 2014, where projects include the development of an online global hazard screening tool and publications on disaster risk dynamics. Additionally, since August 2019, Stuart has worked as a Disaster Risk Management Consultant for the Asian Development Bank, providing technical support for regional risk assessments, and as a Senior Disaster Risk Management Specialist at The World Bank, focusing on risk modeling and providing strategic advice for risk assessments. Stuart has also contributed to the Insurance Development Forum as a Disaster Risk Consultant, leading projects on open risk modeling and publishing best practices. With a PhD in Emergency Management from Massey University, alongside a Master's in Geophysical Hazards from UCL and a Bachelor's in Geography from the University of Leeds, Stuart’s background includes previous roles as a tsunami researcher and catastrophe analyst, demonstrating a robust foundation in both academic and practical aspects of disaster risk.
