Abin Kuriakose

EVP, Innovation & Venture Strategy at World Business Chicago

Abin Kuriakose is the EVP of Innovation & Venture Strategy at World Business Chicago. Prior to that, they served as a Public Engagement Strategist at 270 Strategies, focused on new industries (tech & innovation) verticals. Before that, they were with World Business Chicago as Program Manager, ChicagoNEXT, where they led technology, entrepreneurship and innovation-focused economic development strategies in Chicago with the ChicagoNEXT team. Abin also served as primary project lead for general ChicagoNEXT programs, the 2017 and 2018 Chicago Venture Summit (largest VC conference in the Midwest) and Global-Entrepreuners-in-Residence programs.

Prior to joining World Business Chicago, Kuriakose worked at the City of Chicago as Senior Advisor for the Chicago City Council Asian American Caucus, which they helped establish in 2014. The Caucus is a coalition of Chicago legislators who advocate on behalf of Asian communities, businesses, and health and human service organizations in the City of Chicago.

Before their work in government, Kuriakose served as Deputy Chief Of Staff (Tenth District) for Cook County Government.

Abin Kuriakose has a certificate in Civic Leadership from the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago. Abin also has a certification from LinkedIn in Leading in Government. Abin is currently enrolled in the Business & Society Impact Program (BSIP) 2020 at Loyola University Chicago.
