Anel Montes Marchan

VP, Global Strategic Initiatives at World Business Chicago

Anel Montes Marchan is the current Vice President of Global Strategic Initiatives at World Business Chicago. Anel has over fifteen years of experience in event management, sales, and marketing.

Anel began their career in 2002 as a Media/Marketing Assistant at the National Museum of Mexican Art. Anel then spent two years as a Sales Coordinator for Publications International before joining the City of Chicago as a Private Events Manager for Millennium Park.

In 2010, Anel joined Chicago Sister Cities International as the Senior Manager of International Programs. During their three-year tenure, they oversaw a wide range of programs and initiatives designed to promote cultural exchange and understanding between Chicago and its sister cities around the world.

In their current role at World Business Chicago, Anel is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to attract foreign investment and businesses to the city. Anel has played a key role in numerous projects and initiatives, including the launch of the city’s first-ever Global Business Centers.

Anel Montes Marchan has an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University with a focus on public administration and a BA from Columbia College Chicago in media management with a focus on print media.

Their manager is Adrienne Tongate, EVP, Global Strategic Initiatives.
