Valentin Chirica

Valentin Chirica, Ph. D., currently serves as a Technical Expert at the World Customs Organization, focusing on project implementation aligned with the WCO Strategic Plan. Previously, Valentin held the role of Senior Advisor at the Canada Border Services Agency, where responsibilities included representing Canada in multilateral engagements and WCO affairs. A significant portion of Valentin's career was spent at the Embassy of Canada, providing counsel on program management and liaising with international organizations across several Latin American nations. With extensive experience in international relations, customs modernization, and capacity building, Valentin has held various positions within the Canada Border Services Agency, emphasizing strategic policy development and operational leadership. Valentin's academic background includes advanced degrees in Political Science, European History, and International Relations, complemented by teaching roles at multiple universities.
