Head Of Industry And Partnerships, Centre For Cybersecurity at World Economic Forum

Akshay Joshi has vast work experience in various industries. Akshay started their career in 2001 as a Second Officer (Gas Carrier) at Wilhelmsen Ship Management and continued in the same role at Meiji Shipping Co Ltd from 2010 to 2011. In 2008, they worked as an Account Manager at The PRactice before returning to the maritime industry. From 2013 to 2014, they served as the Head of Operations in Mumbai at The PRactice. In 2015, they joined the World Economic Forum as a Global Leadership Fellow & Community Lead for Business Engagement. Akshay then progressed within the organization, taking on roles such as Head of Operations, Deputy Head, and finally becoming the Head of Industry and Partnerships in the Centre for Cybersecurity.

Akshay Joshi began their education in 2002 at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, where they obtained a Diploma in Nautical Sciences. In 2007, they enrolled at the University of Mumbai and completed a BSc. degree in Nautical Sciences. Following these early academic achievements, Akshay pursued an MBA at Alliance Manchester Business School from 2011 to 2013, focusing on the field of Business. Additionally, from 2014 to 2017, they participated in an Executive Masters in Global Leadership program with the World Economic Forum. This program included studies at several institutions, including China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), Columbia University, Cornell Tech, INSEAD, London Business School, and THNK School of Leadership.
