Cheryl Yip has had a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Cheryl began their career as a Facilitator/Trainer at AGENDA/SCOPE in 2002. Cheryl then worked as a Worker Organizer at the Garment Worker Center from 2003 to 2005. In 2008, they joined the Clinton Global Initiative as an Account Manager. From 2011 to 2014, Cheryl worked at the World Economic Forum as a Strategic Partnership Manager, where they built relationships with CEOs and senior executives, negotiated partnerships, and ensured partnership renewals. Cheryl was selected for the Global Leadership Fellow Programme during this time. Cheryl then took on the role of Head of Technology Cluster, Strategic Partnerships at the World Economic Forum from 2014 to 2018. Most recently, they served as the Head of Consumer and Healthcare, Partner Management at the World Economic Forum starting in 2018.

Cheryl Yip attended Hong Kong International School for an unknown period of time without obtaining a degree or specializing in a particular field of study. Subsequently, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree at UCLA, majoring in Communication Studies and Asian American Studies. Their educational journey continued at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they pursued a Masters in City Planning with a focus on Urban Studies and Planning.
