Gayle Markovitz has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Gayle currently serves as a Lead Editor at the World Economic Forum since January 2023. Prior to this role, they worked as a Business Editor, Digital and Marketing at the same company since June 2019.

From September 2016 to April 2019, Gayle worked for IRU as a Writer and Editor in the Communications team. Gayle'sresponsibilities included planning and delivering content across various channels and working with the global network to create compelling stories.

From August 2011 to August 2016, Gayle held the position of Director of Communications at Adjaye Associates, an international architecture practice. In this role, they managed external communications, including digital, conferences, publications, and press. Gayle also worked closely with the architectural teams and graphic designers on competition submissions and publications.

From February 2004 to March 2011, Gayle worked as an Associate Partner at Foster + Partners, where they focused on marketing, exhibitions, and events. Gayle was responsible for bid and tender documentation and produced written material for the office.

From January 2001 to January 2003, Gayle worked as a Press and Public Relations professional at Zaha Hadid Architects. Gayle closely collaborated with Zaha Hadid and managed press, events, exhibitions, and the image archive. Gayle also traveled with Zaha and coordinated lectures and press openings.

Earlier in their career, Gayle worked as a Journalist from February 1998 to February 2002 and held the role of Art for Architecture Award at The RSA (The royal society for arts, manufactures and commerce) from January 1997 to February 2000. At RSA, they managed events, produced publications, generated publicity, and completed administrative tasks.

Gayle Markovitz holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Politics and English from the University of Sussex. Gayle also obtained a Postgraduate Diploma (PG Dip) in Architectural History and Theory from The Bartlett, UCL. Gayle further pursued a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Media and Communications from Goldsmiths, University of London. Additionally, they completed a program in Advanced Copywriting Skills from CIM | The Chartered Institute of Marketing.
