Giovanni Salvi

Giovanni Salvi has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Giovanni started their career as a PHD Researcher at EPFL, where they applied a perceptron to their protein model and presented their results at conferences. Giovanni then worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Seoul National University, applying self-developed clustering algorithms to network data and presenting their findings at conferences. Giovanni went on to become a Physics and Math Teacher at High Schools and Middle Schools before joining ETH Zurich as a Postdoctoral Researcher, where they utilized molecular dynamics to study biomolecules and discovered new meta-stable states. Giovanni then transitioned into the role of Web Developer at intervisio sagl, managing website projects and using tools like PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and WordPress. Giovanni also worked at Studio Ammann as a Trench Drain Modeler, where they developed and coded a model to determine the size of trench drains for buildings. At Diamond SA - the fiber meeting, Giovanni served as a Senior Software Developer and BI Developer, implementing a web-based data hub and providing self-service access to manufacturing data. More recently, they have worked at Hyperloop Transportation Technologies, Inc. as a Member of the XO Digital Labs team, participating in brainstorming sessions for the development of a global Traveller's Experience concept and implementing public APIs using Python and the Flask framework. Currently, Giovanni is employed at the World Economic Forum as a Data Intelligence Manager, utilizing their skills and experience to contribute to the organization.

Giovanni Salvi holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) in the field of Statistical Biophysics. Giovanni completed their doctoral studies from 2000 to 2004. Prior to their Ph.D., they obtained a Master's degree in Physics from the University of Lausanne - UNIL, where they studied from 1994 to 2000. In 2015, Giovanni earned a Certified Project Management Associate - IPMA Level D from the Association for the certification for persons in management (VZPM), focusing on Project Management.
