Jane Burston

Co Chair, Global Future Council On Clean Air at World Economic Forum

Jane Burston is the Founder and CEO of the Clean Air Fund, where a philanthropic foundation focuses on combating global air pollution, having successfully raised $200 million for grant-making initiatives. Burston also serves as a Board Trustee for Parkinson's UK and holds leadership positions at the World Economic Forum, including Co-Chair of the Global Future Council on Clean Air and a member of the Global Future Council on Energy. Previous roles include Head of Climate Science during a secondment with the UK Government, leading a £45 million climate research program, and heading the Energy and Environment department at the National Physical Laboratory. Burston founded and ran Carbon Retirement, an award-winning social enterprise centered on ethical carbon offsetting, and worked as a strategy consultant on climate change policy for Transport for London. Burston earned a first-class degree in Philosophy from the University of Cambridge.
