Luis Alvarado Martinez has an extensive work experience in various organizations. Luis is currently working at the World Economic Forum as the Head of GAEA - Strategic Philanthropic-Public-Private Partnerships, where they lead the global initiative to fund and grow partnerships aimed at achieving net zero emissions and restoring biodiversity. Prior to this, they served as the Global Lead for Strategic Engagement at the World Economic Forum's Centre for Nature & Climate. Luis also worked as a Senior Climate Advisor at the Mission Possible Partnership.

In addition, Luis Alvarado Martinez has held positions in organizations such as the Atlantic Council, where they were a Millennium Leadership Fellow, and the National Park City Foundation, where they served as a Trustee. Luis also worked in the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) as a Senior Strategic Advisor for Climate Affairs, Energy Resilience & Emergency Response.

Luis Alvarado Martinez has a diverse education history. From 2022 to 2024, they attended the University of Cambridge, where they pursued a Master of Studies in Sustainability Leadership. Prior to that, they participated in the Celera Accelerator programme, a member of the G8, focusing on Leadership & Innovation. Additionally, they have received Executive Education from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), with a specialization in Global Cities: Governance, Planning & Design. Luis also holds an Advanced Master's degree in EU Political & Public Administration Studies from the College of Europe. During their time at Université Jean Moulin (Lyon III), through an ERASMUS Exchange Year, they focused on French Civilization, Culture, and Language. Lastly, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
