Joe Ran

Joe Ran has a diverse work experience in the energy industry. Joe recently served as the Vice President of Innovation and Business Development at World Energy, LLC, where they focused on planning and commissioning renewables. Prior to that, they were an Energy Operations Executive in strategic planning and risk management.

Before joining World Energy, LLC, Joe held several positions at Southern California Edison (SCE), including Director. At SCE, they developed a strategic plan to achieve net-zero carbon emissions and modernized the electric grid.

Joe also worked as a Vice President at Andeavor and was responsible for driving regional performance, overseeing growth strategies, and developing corporate strategic plans. Joe held various leadership roles at Tesoro, including Vice President of Environment, Health, Safety, and Security, Director of Business Operations, Operations Manager, and Area Business Manager. At Tesoro, they implemented safety initiatives, improved operational efficiency, and strengthened environmental reporting and compliance standards.

Earlier in their career, Joe worked at Shell Oil Company and Tosco as a Process Engineer.

Joe Ran holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. In addition to their degree, they have obtained several certifications including "Strategic Planning" from LBL Strategies, Ltd in 2019, "Competitive Strategy" from Northwestern University in 2016, "Strategic Decision and Risk Management" from Stanford University in 2015, and "Risk Based Process Safety" from Rich in 2009. Joe Ran is also licensed as a Professional Engineer by the State of California.
