John L. Z. has extensive experience in the energy industry. John L. currently holds the position of EVP & Chief Operations Officer at World Energy, LLC since 2019. Prior to that, they served as Vice President of Marketing Strategy & Retail Operations at Tesoro Corporation from 2016 to 2019. Before joining Tesoro Corporation, John held various leadership roles at Sunoco LP, including Vice President of Franchise Retail Operations & Strategic Business Development from 2014 to 2016, Vice President of Company Operations & Strategic Business Development from 2012 to 2014, Senior Director of Company Operations & Strategic Business Development from 2010 to 2012, Regional Director of Company Operations from 2002 to 2010, and Retail Project Manager from 1997 to 2002.

From 1988 to 1993, John L. Z. pursued their undergraduate studies at Drexel University. During this period, they focused on Finance and Marketing, ultimately graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business.
