The World Federation of UN Associations (WFUNA) is a global nonprofit organization representing and coordinating a membership of over 100 national United Nations Associations (UNAs) and their thousands of constituents. Based at the United Nations in New York and in Geneva, we are the largest international network of people supporting and engaging with the United Nations. 

Guided by our vision of a United Nations that is a powerful force in meeting common global challenges and opportunities, WFUNA is a civil society organization that works to strengthen and improve the United Nations. We achieve this through the engagement of people who share a global mindset and support international cooperation – global citizens. 

The WFUNA Secretariat is currently led by Secretary-General Bonian Golmohammadi and his staff in New York, Geneva, and Seoul. The acting President of WFUNA is former president of the Dominican Republic, Leonel Fernandez.

The Leadership Team at WFUNA sets the strategic direction and overarching goals for the organization, ensuring alignment with the mission to strengthen and improve the United Nations. Composed of the President, Honorary President, and several Vice Presidents, the team provides high-level oversight, fosters international collaboration, and secures resources essential for programmatic success across peace and security, sustainable development, and human rights initiatives.
