Ross Smith

Ross Smith is an experienced humanitarian professional with a strong background in emergency preparedness and response, currently serving as the Director at the World Food Programme since December 2010. Previous roles within the organization include Deputy Country Director (Operations), Senior Regional Programme Advisor, and Head of Programme. Prior experience includes serving as an Evaluation Specialist and Programme/Planning Specialist at UNICEF and as Manager of Research, Monitoring & Evaluation at the Aga Khan Foundation. Ross's career began as a Research Officer at the Community Economic Development Centre and included independent consultancy work focused on community development programmes. Academic qualifications include a Master of Science from SOAS University of London and a Master of Arts from Simon Fraser University.
