Anand Balachandran

Anand Balachandran is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in public health and development, currently serving as the Unit Head for National Action Plans and Monitoring in the Antimicrobial Resistance Division at the World Health Organization since October 2018. Previously, Anand held multiple roles at WHO from February 2014 to June 2018, including Special Assignment in the Office of the Director-General for Polio Transition, where contributions impacted over 6,000 employees and 20% of the organization’s budget. Anand’s earlier experience includes director-level positions at the Conflict Management Group and the Atlanta Community Food Bank, alongside academic credentials including a Master's in International Relations from The Fletcher School at Tufts University and graduate coursework at Harvard Kennedy School.
