Dr. Emmanuel Ogum

Dr. Emmanuel Ogum is an experienced epidemiologist currently employed at the World Health Organization since April 2023, focusing on the epidemiological surveillance of vaccine-preventable diseases and leading outbreak investigations. Prior roles include serving as a Consultant Public Health Specialist at Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital complex, where responsibilities encompassed supervising disease investigations and collecting data. Dr. Ogum's extensive background also includes a Senior Public Health Specialist position at the Community Health Department of the same institution, providing technical support for program development. Earlier experience includes roles in the World Health Organization's Polio Eradication Initiative, as a resident doctor in community health, and as a medical doctor with Médecins Sans Frontières, primarily focusing on primary health care and malaria prevention.
