Francesco Branca is an accomplished professional in the field of nutrition and food safety, currently serving as the Director of the Department of Nutrition and Food Safety at the World Health Organization. Previously, Francesco held the position of Director of the Department of Nutrition for Health and Development within the WHO. Francesco’s career includes experience as a Regional Advisor for Nutrition with WHO Euro and as a Senior Scientist at the National Institute for Research on Food & Nutrition. Francesco earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biochemistry from the University of Aberdeen between 1991 and 1995, and holds a degree from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, obtained from 1978 to 1984.
