Mohamed Tantawy is an experienced earthen architecture consultant, currently affiliated with the World Monuments Fund since November 2022. As the founder of Mud Studio, active since August 2021, Mohamed focuses on the development of earthen architecture and building crafts. Previous roles include serving as a UNESCO site consultant from May 2020 to January 2022, where contributions were made to the safeguarding of Hassan Fathy's architectural legacy. Additional experience includes site management and educational program management at Hand Over, urban research at the Integrated Urban Sustainable Design (IUSD) lab, and various architectural and urban planning roles spanning over a decade. Mohamed holds a Master’s degree in Integrated Urbanism and a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning from Ain Shams University.
