Richard Waite

Director, Agriculture Initiatives at World Resources Institute

Richard Waite is a Senior Research Associate at the World Resources Institute, specializing in Food and Climate Programs since November 2007. Notable projects include co-authoring the comprehensive World Resources Report, which presents a five-course menu of solutions for sustainably feeding 10 billion people by 2050 while addressing greenhouse gas emissions, deforestation, and poverty. Previously, Richard served as a Research Associate focusing on diet shifts and aquaculture, and as a Research Analyst supporting healthy ecosystem initiatives. Richard's experience also includes working with the U.S. Department of State as an Assistant Coordinator for development programs in Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea, and serving as an Agroforestry Extension Agent with the Peace Corps. Richard holds an MA in International Development Studies from The George Washington University and a BA in Music from Hamilton College.
