World Science Festival
Riya Sikand is an accomplished scholar currently engaged in multiple prestigious initiatives, including serving as a New Jersey Governor's School Scholar and a World Science Scholar. Riya's academic journey includes core studies in Robotics and Physics, as well as electives in Micro and Nanofabrication and Material Sciences. Riya also holds leadership roles as a Northeast Policy Researcher for Dear Asian Youth, a Civic Innovation Fellow with Civics Unplugged, and a Teen Leader at the New-York Historical Society. Riya founded Girls Explore Math and Technology and actively participates as an AI4ALL Changemaker and an Inspirit AI Leadership Fellow. With a strong focus on STEM, Riya has completed significant projects using AI to classify leukemia subtypes and has been a dedicated ambassador for youth STEM initiatives. Riya is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts at Harvard University, following a high school diploma from Ranney School.
World Science Festival
Originally known for our groundbreaking week-long live festivals placing science at the cultural core of New York City, the World Science Festival (WSF) has grown into an innovative multi- media organization that produces original content straddling science, technology, the arts, media, performance, journalism and education, with formats ranging across vibrant discussions and debates, to inspired collaborative works of theatre, film and music. Featuring outstanding talent and novel production techniques, our programming brings the most far-reaching and transformative ideas, discoveries and perspectives to a broad general audience. WSFs live events in 13 countries have garnered an in-person audience of over three million and its digital, educational and broadcast programming has received over 200 million views.
