Laura Gomez Bustos has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Laura started their career as a Researcher/Project Manager at the Observatory of Globalization-University of Barcelona in 2002. Laura then joined the International Chair WTO-Regional Integration at the University of Barcelona in 2006 as a Researcher/Project Manager. In 2007, Laura moved to the University of Barcelona's Law School, where they served as the Coordinator and later the Associate Director of the Master of Laws in International Economic Law and Policy (IELPO) program until 2011.

In 2012, Laura took on consultancy roles at the International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development (ICTSD) and the World Trade Organization (WTO). At the WTO, they worked as a Dispute Settlement Lawyer under the Legal Affairs Division. Their consultancy at both organizations lasted until 2013.
