Jeff Starkey's work experience begins with their role as an IT Operator/Developer at Haggen, Inc. from 1985 to 1987. Jeff then served as a Graphics Designer at The Navigators from 1987 to 1989. Following that, they worked as a Programmer Analyst for Agena, a software company later acquired by Vertafore, from 1989 to 1996. At Vertafore, their responsibilities included software development and technical support. From 1996 to 1997, Jeff served as a Marketing Systems Specialist (Programmer Analyst) at World Vision USA, where they developed income forecast models and provided support to a team of researchers. Jeff then took on the role of Programmer Analyst III at World Vision USA from 1997 to 2003, during which they designed the Child-In-Program star-schema data mart and managed the analytic data warehouse. From 2003 to 2005, Jeff worked as a Data Architect at World Vision USA, leading the conversion of donor management systems to Oracle eBusiness Suite and designing analytic data structures. Jeff later served as a Senior Programmer Analyst (Designer II) at World Vision USA from 2005 to 2006, implementing duplicate detection and donor merge capabilities. From 2006 to 2015, Jeff held the position of Application Architect at World Vision USA, where they designed and developed RESTful APIs and pioneered web services. Finally, they took on the role of Principal Software Development Engineer at World Vision USA in 2015, focusing on next-generation web services within the Azure platform-as-a-service eco-system and supporting team development within World Vision's Scrum Agile practice.
Jeff Starkey earned a Certificate in Cloud Application Development in Amazon Web Services (AWS) from the University of Washington in 2014-2015. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Mathematics and Economics at Western Washington University from 1982 to 1984. Jeff also received an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Economics from Highline College in 1980-1982.
