Dr. Nelly Isigi Kadagi currently serves as the Director of the Education for Nature Program and Conservation Leadership at the World Wildlife Fund, overseeing a program with an annual budget of approximately $8-10 million aimed at promoting conservation efforts across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean. With a strong academic background including a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Ecology from the University of Florida, Dr. Kadagi has held various roles in fisheries science and policy, including positions as a Principal Scientist for the BILLFISH-WIO PROJECT and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at both the University of Denver and One Earth Future Foundation. Previous experience includes leading research and fundraising at the African Billfish Foundation, as well as roles in regional fisheries consulting with FAO and program coordination at Local Ocean Conservation.
